Announcing the Sale of INJOY Stewardship Services Dr. John C. Maxwell announced on December 4, 2008 the sale of his company, INJOY Stewardship Services (ISS) to the company’s Executive Vice President Dr. Rick Campbell. Dr. Maxwell founded ISS in 1992 and since its inception has assisted over 4,000 churches in raising over $4 billion for Kingdom purposes through vision-driven capital stewardship campaigns. Dr. Maxwell will remain with the company as Chairman of the Board and will still be an active part of the ministry’s public activity. Dr. Maxwell says, “I am so grateful to leave my company and legacy in the capable hands of Rick Campbell. I am confident that ISS will remain a leader in the capital stewardship industry with Rick’s leadership and our partnership.” Rick Campbell holds a Doctorate in Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and has over 23 years of leadership experience in church and parachurch organizations. During his 17 years as a Senior Pastor, he successfully planted two churches while committing his life to equipping the church and its leaders to effectively interpret and fulfill their vision for their communities. In addressing his newly acquired team on Thursday, Rick said, “I was created to help churches. God called me to come alongside churches to help them pursue their vision. John Maxwell has given me the opportunity to do that as executive staff and now as Owner of INJOY Stewardship Services.” During his tenure at ISS, Rick has been called upon to deliver the ISS partnership to some of America’s greatest churches. Some of his campaign partners include First Baptist Church Jacksonville and Senior Pastor Mac Brunson, Crossroads Community Church and Lead Pastor Brian Tome in Cincinnati, Shoreline Christian Center and Senior Pastor Rob Koke in Austin, TX, Bishop Walter Thomas of New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD, NewSpring Church and Lead Pastor Perry Noble in Anderson, SC, and Elevation Church and Lead Pastor Steven Furtick in Indian Trial, NC. Under Rick’s leadership, ISS will continue to deliver innovative, customized partnerships that include the company’s signature elements of strategic consulting, Financial Analysis, Indeavor, Campaign University, and the leadership teachings and influence of its Founder, John Maxwell. Economic realities are creating resource challenges that churches have never faced. As a result, the need for a ministry partner has never been greater. ISS is distinctively positioned to assist churches in achieving their ministry vision and goals. As Rick says “My vision for ISS in 2009 and beyond is to extend our reach and expand our services and influence in the church marketplace for the purposes of helping churches do what they cannot do by themselves”. Dr. Maxwell has often said, "There is no success without succession". As he communicated the sale of the company, he reiterated the joy he had in transitioning its ownership and daily operations to Rick Campbell because of Rick’s heart and desire to serve churches and continue his legacy. Dr. Maxwell also communicated his excitement by continuing to serve Rick and the organization in various expanded capacities moving forward. Dr. John Hull, who served as INJOY Stewardship Services’ President and CEO for the past two years and will remain President and CEO of John Maxwell’s non-profit organization EQUIP, expressed his enthusiasm for Rick by saying, “I am excited and confident in Rick’s ability to lead ISS going forward. He has shown himself as being an incredible consultant to churches in need of capital fundraising and I am sure he will step up and lead ISS in the same way.” Rick Campbell, Dr. John Maxwell, and the rest of the ISS team will be hosting four (4) stewardship symposiums in targeted areas throughout the country in 2009.
