PHILADELPHIA
— The Board of Pensions (BOP) of the Presbyterian Church
(U.S.A.) is encouraging early registration for its free “Tax Tips
for Ministers and Churches” teleconference, scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
on December 11.
Registration ends
November 21, but space is limited.
“Ministers and
churches that want to pay less in taxes should join the Board for
this annual teleconference,” say BOP officials.
This year’s
Web-enhanced event will feature renowned clergy and church tax
expert Richard R. Hammar. He will discuss:
- recent tax law
changes that will affect ministers and churches;
- eligible
deductions that are often overlooked in church and clergy tax
returns; and
- the right way
to handle the housing allowance, cell phone expenses, church
member donations, and more.
Participants may
also submit tax questions when they register.
