NACBA Hall of Fame Member Passes Away

We are very saddened to report the passing of Carol Cooper, CCA. Carol died on October 30th just ten days after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She was 84. Carol joined NACBA in 1980 while serving as the church business administrator for the First United Methodist Church of Olympia, Washington. She became a Certified Church Administrator in 1988 and she served on the local planning teams for our national conferences held in Seattle in 1991 and 2001. In all, Carol attended 11 national conferences.

In 1997 Carol was inducted into the NACBA Hall of Fame for Church Administrators. She was a long-time member and leader in the Pacific Northwest and South Puget Sound Chapters. In her retirement as an Emeritus member, she was a tireless ambassador promoting the ministry of NACBA.

She is survived by Lawrence (Larry), her husband of 64 years. Her memorial service will be at the First United Methodist Church, 1224 Legion Way, Olympia, Washington on Friday November 9 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the NACBA Endowment Fund. Her complete obituary can be found at
