The Metro Group of NACBA
meeting in Birmingham, Alabama

Metro
Group holding a regional meeting
The Metro Group of NACBA is planning a regional meeting beginning
May 3rd at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL.
The Metro Group is made up of churches with average weekend
attendance of 3,000 or more, have multiple weekend services, and a
$4million dollar budget; although there isn’t an official
membership. They have met annually during the National Convention
for about ten years.
Glenn Wood, Administrator of Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC, is
excited about this new opportunity for Administrators to gather in a
smaller setting and spend more time on specific topics of their
choosing. Glenn has been working with the group for years and has
moderated the Alpha group at the conferences for five years.
The meeting will be held at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham
beginning Sunday May 3rd. Their Executive Administrator, Robert
Hodges will be the host for the meeting. COH has an average weekend
attendance of 12,000 across five campuses having opened in February
of 2001. Those arriving on Sunday will be able to attend Church of
the Highlands Sunday evening service at 6pm to kick the event off.
The meeting will continue on Monday, May 4th, with the entire day
devoted to topics selected by the attendees. To date, the agenda has
not been finalized but may include sessions on budgeting,
technology, banking and others. “The great thing about this meeting,
is we get to set the agenda and talk as little or as much as we want
on the subjects”, said Glenn during a recent call about the meeting.
To date, 25 churches will be represented from across the country.
Because of the economic downturn, some churches do not have the
budget to attend the national conference. This is an alternative at
a lower cost. Admission to attend is $50 plus travel. There are also
discussions of having another regional meeting in the fall in
another area of the country.
If you are interested in attending this event, or for more
information, please contact Glenn Wood at
